Navy Officer Candidate School (OCS) Practice Test

The Navy Hymn, also known as "Eternal Father, Strong to Save," expresses a plea for help for those in peril on the sea. This hymn is deeply rooted in the naval tradition and acknowledges the dangers faced by sailors and those who venture upon the waters. It evokes a sense of divine protection and assistance needed during tumultuous times at sea, highlighting the vulnerability of individuals in such perilous situations.

The themes of safety and salvation in the hymn emphasize the need for support and guidance for service members who encounter life-threatening challenges while at sea. The focus on seeking assistance reflects the broader human desire for reassurance in moments of vulnerability, particularly within the context of naval service where the ocean can become a realm of unpredictability and danger.
